iPad mini : Will It Be Released This Year?

The first thing that will hit people’s mind is that do Apple really need to offer a mini iPad. They have been successful with their previous versions of iPads , iPad , iPad 2 and now there is this incredible new iPad. So what do the big guns in Cupertino based electronic giant have in mind. Why would they want to release the so called iPad mini and if they do when will it be.

iPad-Mini

Well the market of 7 inch tablet PC is clearly dominated by Android and they have been claiming that 2012 will be the year of Android Tablets.  The more influx of medium sized tablet PCs from Android will only work against the Apple although they are way above the others in 9 inch or so tablets. So this may trigger Apple to work on the possible competitor for the Andoid tablets.

So what would mini iPad mini look like? It will have the 7.85-inch screen, perhaps not the Retina displays but will use IPS/FFS panels from LG Display and probably AU Optronics (AUO). The sources say that it could feature a slim bezel display, allowing the screen to occupy a larger portion of the tablet’s face than it does on current iPad models.

How about price and release date ? The price would certainly be low but not below $200. It might be available in anything between $249 – $299. The release date is rumored to be 3rd Quarter of this year.
