Update Omega v12 Custom ROM To Galaxy S3 GT I9300 [How To]

Samsung Galaxy S3 users can now update their phones with the latest Omega v12 custom ROM firmware that has arrived with some advanced features. This stable version of the firmware has been dubbed as XXBLG9 and is based on Android 4.0.4 ICS. The firmware also includes best Wi Fi and Modem drivers.

Important Note: The update is dedicated only for Galaxy S3 GT I9100. Do not try this on any other devices, not even I9100G. You can check the model number of your device following the path “Settings > About Phone”.

So, here is the step by step guide that will get your Galaxy S3 GT I9100 updated.

Step 1: Back up all the data of your phone that you may need later (SMS, Contacts, Call Log, Media files, APN settings)

Step 2: Enable USB Debugging Mode. Follow Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging

Step 3: Download  Omega 12 Custom ROM Firmware Package in computer.

Step 4: Get your device connected to computer with the help of USB cable.

Step 5: Copy the downloaded zip file to Galaxy S3 to the location where it will be easy to find.

Step 6: Disconnect and turn off the device. Enter in the Recovery Mode. It can be done by holding the Volume Up button + the Home key button (the middle button). Holding the buttons, turn ON the phone. In recovery mode, select “Wipe data/factory reset” & “Wipe Cache partition”.

Step 7: Select Advanced, clear Dalvik cache.

Step 8: Select Install zip from sd card > Choose zip from internal sd card then choose Omega 12 Custom ROM Firmware Package that you had copied earlier in your device. It may take 4-5 minutes to apply and about additional 5 minutes time to boot the device for startup.
